February 22, 2013 – Presentation provides an overview of Local Law 87

This presentation provides an overview of Local Law 87, which requires property owners to perform energy audits and retro-commission their buildings every 10 years.  The Energy Efficiency Report must be submitted to the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) via online forms documenting the results.  The goal of the outreach effort and presentations is to provide property owners with step-by-step instructions on how to comply with Local Law 87 and guidance for directing staff or consultants.  Compliance with this law is required for buildings greater than 50,000 square feet. Urban Green Council has developed this presentation with assistance from the Mayor’s Office, NYC Department Of Buildings, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and the real estate industry. Presentations are being scheduled on an ongoing basis.
