Once the demolition and removal of the standby boiler was completed, the concrete pad for new domestic hot water heater (DHW) and storage tanks was installed.

Even though it was getting low pressure gas service, this building had to install a separate fire-rated Gas Meter Room because the point of entry was in the Tank Room. Should the owner later install a new oil tank, the gas meter will be isolated and protected.

Before the conversion this building's space heating and domestic hot water were supplied by a Scotch Marine boiler fired by a forced draft "Hev-E" Gas/Oil burner

Fuel Conversion Project: Under New York City's Building Code the side arm pre-heater, which is required to heat No. 6 oil before entering the boiler, must be disconnected if the boiler is converted to No. 4 oil, No. 2 oil or natural gas.

National Mechanical and Con Edison arrived at 8:30am to install the new gas meter and do the swing-over to new gas service. Con Ed then turned the old gas line off in the street. This is the new gas line going into the new dual fuel burner.
