Valerie Corbett is a LEED® Accredited Professional1 and a BPI  Certified Building Analyst and Building Envelope Professional2  with over 30 years of experience in real estate development and financial services in both the public and private sectors. She has a proven track record in strategic planning, managing large-scale real estate projects, leading cross-functional development teams, contract negotiations and capital raising. As a LEED AP BD+C and BPI Certified Professional she brings special expertise and professional relationships in green building, energy efficiency, sustainable development and related green products.

[1] The LEED AP Building Design and Construction (BD+C) credential indicates professional excellence and a strong depth of knowledge and practical understanding of the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating SystemTM, a third-party certification program and nationally accepted benchmark designed to encourage and accelerate global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a 501 c3 non-profit organization committed to expanding sustainable building practices. USGBC is composed of more than 19,500 organizations from across the building industry that are working to advance structures that are environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work. Members includes building owners and end-users, real estate developers, facility managers, architects, designers, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, product and building system manufacturers, government agencies, and nonprofits.

[2] The Building Performance Institute (BPI) is a national standards development and credentialing organization for residential energy efficiency retrofit work. BPI's nationally recognized Building Analyst and Building Envelope credentialing programs identify individual excellence in house-as-a-system evaluation, diagnostics and installation. The Building Analyst trainings consist of building science fundamentals, analysis of diagnostic equipment, assessment of building tightness and practical application of blower door; combustion safety and other diagnostics for assessing air leakage and efficiency in buildings. The Building Envelope training consists of health and safety, indoor air quality assessment, advanced blower door applications, insulation techniques and applications and other topics related to improving building envelope efficiency.
